Landing in LA this Friday
We are flying in to ONT and should be at Greg Brown's shop Friday afternoon. We plan to visit Santa Monica pier that afternoon as well. Staying in Oceanside downtown...near the pier, Friday and Saturday. Will take a trip into San Diego Saturday. So if you see a red shark near the pier, don't be concerned.
Sunday we will light out for Phoenix via the Pines to Palms Hwy and I-10.
Greg in what sounds like his typical fashion found several little gremlins that needed to be excised. I think it is so cool that the 928 rock star cared for my car.
New fuel lines and cruise control module, yea! "We're not worthy."
And here is a little 928 **** to tease you into the weekend. New tranny just before he installed it in Fierce.

SWEET! Man that should be a fun drive getting back to G'Town. Mine is still in pieces. Out of town next week but will catch up with you when I return. I hope the drool doesn't ruin the paint.

I'm just hoping we can find all the "little gremlins" before you drive it home, so the trip is fun and not a disaster.
It's been quite a challenge.....
Today, we noticed that the front lower control arm bolts (rear bolts) were almost ready to fall out. Literally, ready to fall out....1/2" of both bolt shanks showing, on the right side!!!!
The left side was only loose enough to move the washers around with our fingers...so the bolts would have taken a bit longer to fall out on the left, instead of the right.
The bolts on the front end of the control arm were tight, however, so when the rear bolts fell out completely, I'm pretty sure you would have heard the control arm grinding on the ground, just before you crashed.
We're going to go over the entire suspension, with a torque wrench, tomorrow morning.

Just another advantage of having someone that both knows their way around a 928 (blindfolded!) and actively looks for anything that needs attention.
Enjoy the drive! The peace of mind that the car has been well looked at is extremely calming.

Holy crap! As we know, and Greg had stated to me earlier, there are a lot of hacks out there. Even though my bank account will be empty I am glad that I eventually got the car to Greg. I would advise anyone looking to purchase in the western half of the US to get their 928 to Precision Motorwerks for the PPI.

I'm impressed by... The plan to be at Greg's shop on (a) Friday afternoon, and the plan to be at Santa Monica Pier on the same Friday afternoon. There are two freeway interchanges that flip-flop the title of busiest in the country. One is he 405 at the Santa Monica freeway. The other is at the 405 at the 101 just a few miles and at least 45 minutes north of that one. There's always a chance that the Gods that control traffic are the same ones you've been praying to all your life. And that they heard you and will respond.
Enjoy yopur visit to Greg's. Disneyland is right down the street, and a lot more entertainment just in their free zone than the Santa Monica pier will be. IMO anyway.

Yes, depending on your budget and tastes there are a million good restaurants to try in coastal Orange County. Holler if you'd like suggestions.

great group of guys to visit with while you are there. Be sure to swing by 928 Intl and say hi too. Too bad you'll miss meeting Dr Bob though. Everyone made me feel right at home during my early summer visit.

Just head 15 hours north before you turn east. Or wait until next week, and take a tour east across the smokies for a visit.
