Thumbs up Rockets new Playmate!!

Well, I finally had a chance to pick her up! Flew up to Portland on Thursday and Shane picked me up. Headed back to his place near Rochester, WA and had a great visit with him and Lisa...you guys are awesome! Had a chance to see the car on his lift and what a dry under belly!! Spent the night and hit the road early Friday.

Drove down to Bend, OR and stopped at Dr. Bob's...he and his wife are amazing folks. Had the opportunity to see Dr. Bob use his alignment tooling and all I can say is way easy!

Got on the road yesterday (Sat) @ 0800 and headed South back to Palmdale...made it in 11 hrs. ticket free

Now the good stuff...Shane did a great getting the car in tight shape! The updated Grey Interior looks great! The suspension is firm, engine is solid, and the trans and clutch near perfect! She ran very strong with long legs. The 5-speed is a blast...I had to call Ken to let him know that the chips he has produced are spot on! With Rocket having boost for 9 years, I wasn't expecting such a strong car. Can't wait to get her dyno'd in the future.

The car has been Shane's "Helmut" for 11+ years....but during one of my gas stop's, a guy in a C7 Corvette pulled in and complimented the car. He said it looked like a "Torch" in his rear view mirror coming up from a distance closing fast. The name stuck, so I'm happy to present Torch, the new edition!

This car looks and sounds great. Darien treated me to a short ride Friday evening during his visit. Car pulls very nicely, and offers a symphony for the ears along the way. He'll have to share the details of the exhaust mods. I'm a fan of quiet, but this one has just the right note and not offensively loud.

I've driven the same route Darien took, cruise set at limit plus 5, in a little under 13 hours with one meal stop. Making that same drive in 11 hours, in a red 928, in the middle of a holiday weekend, with out-of-state plates... pretty impressive!

The interior in this car is great too. Late S4 stuff swapped in, and the dark grey works really well with the RED exterior.

It was good to see Darien again too. Last contact was in the spring for some suspension adjustments/tweaking/fitment on the other car in Glendale. We enjoyed the visit!

It was great getting to see Darien again, even though it was hard seeing such a great car going home with him. Torch will get the attention that it deserves and get driven which it really hasn't been on my end of things lately.

The interior is out of a wrecked '89S4 that was Slate Gray with Slate Gray/Black interior that just goes real well with Guards Red as Bob mentioned.

I'm sticking with my Roger-boxes and taking Darien and Bobs' advice to get moving on my Supershark and start driving her again.

Congrats Darien!! Rocket & Torch looks great together!

Hi Darien, glad you got your new car home safe and sound,
the interior color is really a great match for the red,
Goodluck with it!
