Default Spring in seat switch

My passenger seat wasn't going forward and backward, so I took apart my switches to clean. Somehow in this process I lost the tiny spring in the middle for the pin. Anyone know where I might get a tiny spring to replace it? I really don't know where one goes to buy tiny springs. I would think anything close would work. I did successfully fix the switch for forward and backward.

Next time don't take it apart, just spray deoxit in it.

I may have some old switches and springs lying around. Will look tonight. If so pm me your address and I will drop them in the mail for ya.

I think Wally had a tip on this. When you pry open the switch, do it inside a zip lock type bag. This way you can see what you are doing and the small parts don't fly away.

Good tip from Wally, but too late now.

Maybe a flint spring from a Bic lighter?

Half the fun of this stuff is trying to re-engineer it.

This last one because I like the instruction to call the ambulance first if you use light gloves.

I got really close with the small spring inside the light up key head. Just slightly too big. Ah.

I think I removed everything fine, I just forgot there was a tiny spring in there. I put the other springs and stuff in a zip lock.

I don't know what size that spring is, so I can't really suggest a replacement.

But I can suggest trying a hobby shop that stocks slot car stuff.

I lost the spring out of my alarm switch in the door lock cylinder last winter. The local Porsche dealer could get a replacement for $10.
I found one that fit just fine and worked perfectly at a local hobby shop. It was either for a pickup shoe or the motor brush for a HO scale slot car. The clerk and I looked through a bunch of the replacement parts for a few different types of cars before we found one that looked right. 4 springs for $2.50.

I was thinking that too. Unfortunately the only local hobby shops I know of closed the last few years. Think all we have in this part of WI is Hobby Lobby now.
