Default NOT the Midas Touch

Yesterday I took my 928 to my local Midas for it's yearly Safety Inspection. They've been doing the inspection for me since I got the car and are always very careful with it. After they pull it in, either the manger or at least one of the Techs come in and talk to me about car and gush over how nice it is.

After they are done, they always park it right in front of the office door, I pay and off I go. No different yesterday...except the person they finished with in front of me.

As I was walking out to get into my car, this POS got into his POS truck and back out of the corner space and well.....I'm sure you can guess what happened next. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing...Are you F'n kidding me!!?

What came out of my mouth at his window, before he could even open his door, should be banned in all 50 states. I was a "little" mad.

I won't go into all the unpleasant details on what I said and what he said back. Looking back with a cooler head now seems kind of funny. But, it really almost went to blows. After I got his information and we had our final comment to each other, he was on his way.

I was left with a scratched up front nose and a compressed bumper. Probably hit at about 5 MPH at a little left of center. Nothing else seems damaged. Not the worst, I know (I did worse myself a couple years ago) but now I have to get it fixed with less than a month until Frenzy.

Stupid drivers who don't pay attention and can't use their mirrors SUCK.

mandatory pictures.

Hard to see all the scrapes in this picture.

Pushed in lights.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I. The second picture it looks like a chunk of the bumper cover is broken below the fog light assembly. What a bummer.

HMMM, I assumed that that gap was supposed to be there and that the lights cover over it. Looking back at my pictures from the previous repair it's not there.

Thanks for more good news Bilal!

Really sorry for you Rick.
At least it is only aesthetic.

Do you think the scratches can be removed with a good compound or it will need to be re-painted?
Hard to tell from the pictures.

Gap should be there. You need at least 1 (change both) shock. Changeing them takes time and there is one nut for front underneath the lights that are fiddily to get to.

This remindes me of the new commercials on t.v. now with rear view cameras. They show people just backing up without looking expecting everyone to get the hell out of their way. The only reason these people do not run over children, or into busses is apparently because the car is smart enough to stop the dumbass driving from hurting someone. All the while her children are giggling at 'mom' for her inept driving.

DRIVERS!!! if you cannot turn around in your seat to look behind to see if clear before backing up DON'T DRIVE!!!

The other commercial that flips my switch is the guy driving and not noticing the cars stopping in front (luckily the car does and stops) You hear a voice over "i didn't see that coming".........WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT! Pay attention! Your driving a 2 ton machine that is not a toy and can do real damage if not PAYING ATTENTION!

Sorry for rant I will go have my 5th cup of joe now.

That sucks Rick,

Wouldn't it be nice if they just apologized. Bet he didn't for you to get so mad.

It's different when a classic Porsche gets hit like this, and it is a big deal imo.

When my 911 was hit broadside (and ruined) by a Pizza Delivery Guy,
he was all business, just wanted to get it over with.

I finally said to him "can you at least say sorry?" he did.

I used to carefully tap my feet and hold my weight away from the side seat bolster every time i got into it for 13 years (as i do now)

That was a wasted effort.

Hope you get it taken care of for Frenzy and hope to finally see it. -Matt

That sucks for sure.

Had an idiot in a Honda back into the side of my BMW despite my honking and yelling stop out my open window. He did not stop until my car stopped his rearward progress. When I asked him about my honking and yelling he said the thought it was for someone else. He was the only moving car in the parking lot! I was hemmed in and could not get out of his way. Turned out it was not even his car. His was in the body shop from 3 similar accident in the previous two weeks. Told him he should really start taking the bus and obviously did not have the skills to enjoy the privilege of driving.

Yes, just aesthetic. Not sure about just "buffing out" the scratches are really gouged into the paint. We'll see what my guy says when he looks at it.

I totally agree. Smarter cars mean dumber drivers!

This driver needed all of the above new car features. Plus he needed a brain and a little awareness of what's around him and not just what's in his little world.

HEY! I HAVE A PICK UP!! AND IT'S NOT ALL BEATEN TO CRAP EITHER!!

I have a more local guy that will do all the repairs. He's really good and a lot closer. If Kevin were close, he definitely would be my guy. No question.

He might have been more apologetic, but I never gave him a chance. I put him on the defensive right away. His apology even later wouldn't have helped. He was a tool and remained one until the end. We both left with each others spit on our faces..

He wouldn't or most wouldn't understand but us, what a big deal it is.

Yep, another clueless a-hole. Nice comment to him about taking the bus. I told this guy some things he needed to do also.

I kept her in the garage this weekend. Now I won't go out at all. For our own protection.

Sorry to see this.

I'm really sorry this happened, Rick.

I don't have anything funny to say to cheer you up.
