Nice low miles Linen S4 '89 5 spd fs
Didn't see any other threads on this one, so if its an Enzo,.... Tough, here it is again! Not seen this shark before, does anyone know of it or the owner? Its not listed on the Registry.

Linen Metallic was only available as a stock color in '89 & '90 and is one of my favorites. My '90 C2 cab was that color with the linen interior and always got lots of compliments. A champagne color, that next to a silver car looks gold, next to gold car, it looks silver.
With it having just under 35k miles, a 5 spd, & the color, its has to be a premium shark, but wonder if it could bring near the asking price of $32,500. If it were a GT it'd really bring a premium. If I was independently wealthy, I'd certainly love to have it.

Looks very nice from the ad. I hope he gets every penny he's asking for. But I would say the asking price is at least 8 - 10k too high. If it is a one owner car, completely up to date on maintenance etc. etc., that is a different story to an extent.

I usually think that prices are too high, but this looks about right to me. I'd discount the price for PPI issues and any maintenance that isn't up to date, but it does look promising. I suspect that it would already have sold if it were on the West coast.

That truly is a awesome looking car BTW

I would not mind being wrong on this. We have a nice low mileage S4 with an offbeat color that is also non-rogerbox. Nice car, not a GT, not a GTS. Is it really worth 32K?

It's absolutely worth $32,000 if the jump post cover
is still attached (sorry had to)
But seriously, I do think this car is worth $30K.
I rather own it over an ugly and prone to engine problems
'89 964 911 any day of the week. They are ugly too.
Will it sell for $30k, probably not but it should.

So in my opinion it doesn't look like a 34k mile car. The leather and shift **** have too much wear/tear throughout the car and the engine doesn't look like a low miles car either.
My opinion but I would want to see complete records from new to verify miles are accurate.

The mileage looks right to me for a 30-60k car - the seats need a really good condition to restore suppleness, but the bolster shape still looks good. Steering wheel and also the vents for rear AC also match a low-miles car.
The engine bay looks right too - except for the cross brace, but thats a pretty common cosmetic issue. The lack of cracking and the sheen on the intake and cam cover indicate to me they're original (the factory paint yellows with heat to that colour).
Of course, there's two things in the engine bay standing out as problems..
Jump post cap is missing.. and.. K&N filter..
I can see a few things about the car which make me think not a $32k car.. but I do think its a $20k+ one, assuming title is clear and mileage is supported by paper documentation.
Plus 89 5-speed is the best 928 of all time
PS - I should mention, that ilnen metallic S4's look awesome in person - one of the local landshark members has an 89 auto in that colour.

If the miles are genuine, and the paint is bubble-free, it could be a $30k car IMO.
But the seller would need to spend $4k getting it a full detail (inside/out/engine bay), conditioning the leather, and putting it back to stock (put back on stock exhaust box, stock door speakers and radio etc.). And that assuming the AC works

If that car goes for $32k, it would make my day...for obvious reasons. Linen Metallic is a great color for the 928....

Talked to the owner
Guys,
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but...
I've been lusting after this car ever since I first saw the add a few months ago. I contacted the owner yesterday and the car is still for sale. Here's what I learned:
- Timing belt and water pump have NEVER been replaced
- Dash has a 1" crack nearthe vent
- Previous owner installed an upgraded cam (GT cam?) which caused the car to run poorly and ultimately drove him to sell the car. Current owner modded fuel flow to accomadate the cam and car has run perfectly ever since.
- Owner is selling because he prefers to drive his 944 and 944T.
If the car was a genuine #2, I would have been willing to offer close to 30K. Given the new info, I'm thinking of offering 24-25K to address the deferred maintenance and see what he says.
For the experts, is 24K a reasonable offer?
