Default CV re-assembly - lining up marks?

Hi,
re-assembling my CV joints. On the inner side (trans side) on each inner race there is an indentation and a paint mark, not in the same place. Balancing marks? Is one of these supposed to be lined up to the drive shaft? My assumption would be the paint mark? Should it align with the green dot at the end of the drive shaft?

Thanks

maybe better to show what I mean by the green paint mark on the drive shaft.

I assume when you took it all apart to clean that the ball bearings were removed and clean...now not sure which one went exactly where? I think the shaft was balanced from the factory but I have no idea how one would balance it now after rebuilding. I would not worry with it. Just re assemble and drive.

BTW...looks nice and clean so far.

I just went back and looked at pictures when I did mine a couple years ago. No paint marks; just the peen in the hub. It looks like you're in the homestretch, but I found Dwayne’s page incredibly helpful. http://www.dwaynesgarage.norcal928.org/boot.htm

Thanks, one of the many learning's I got....look twice before taking stuff apart and take more photos when it is clean.
I have Dwayne's site printed out, I don't start anything without first checking his site.
