928 TRACK CAR FOR SALE

Drifting
I'd love to buy this car. But i don't have the space right now.
I would think it will need only a few hours on a frame machine.
Don't remove any panels as they need to see what happened to
repair it best on a frame machine.
I have been looking at it on CL (I'm in Philly area)
I hope you don't part it.
Constantine did such a beautiful job. So many great touches.
I was thinking what i could say to my Wife
as to why i needed to buy this car.
Coke is her favorite soda..
I'd buy it so my Son and i could go racing together when he is old enough.
He wants his own 928 already at 11.

As someone who has been going through a track car build for some time now, if you have any inclination toward building one, but are able to afford one that's already been done, I'm telling you it's no contest. So much easier, and I would imagine just as satisfying, to personalize a pre- built track car than start from the ground up. This is a great start for someone, it belongs back on the track.

Yes... I bought it! I'm really excited too.
One of our local 928 guys owns a body shop with a rack. We are going to turn this into a community project and trade wrench time for seat time! The car is already on its way to Michigan.
I think the car is 100% salvagable. It's got some very nice parts on it. Cross-drilled crank, accusump, a spare set of Fikse rims, Some whiz-bang suspension that cost about half what I paid for the car, and a lot more.
This should be a FUN project!

With darned good reason, congratulations! I only wish you were doing the work somewhere closer to my shop, I have a nearly stripped '85 chassis I could donate body parts off (in exchange for the aforementioned seat time of course of but it's a very long way from Michigan.
I just finished a restoration using it as a donor and was planning to build it for the track along the same lines as the car you just bought, but I got this smoking hot deal on a 944 S2 and decided to change horses.

Just noticed this thread. What an incredible journey this car has had. The pictures, the stories, the people it has brought together, it all adds up to a really special 928.
It's great to see that AO and crew will rebuild it and return it to the track. Funny thing is that Andrew purchased some heads and cams from me that are from the engine that was blown when I purchased it from Constantine. Crazy how that it worked out he has the entire car now. The engine in that car is like new with very few hours on it when purchased from me and it is loaded with trick parts.
Sorry to see that this happened to 177mph however I'm equally happy it is going to someone who is going to rebuild it and keep it in the 928 family.
