For those playing along at home, take a look at the Porsche AC service manual that's included in the Jim Morehouse CD set, available from Roger. Besides describing the procedure for liquid charging, it includes a wealth of info on the system and why/how it all works. Combined with a more generic book like Chilton's AC manual, you'll gain a lot of knowledge that will help you keep your cool.

Just to let you know that I recharged the system in my car using dr bob's method (see post #6) and it worked perfectly.

Thank you again Bob for the tip.

I did it when doing the TB/WP job so no hoses in the way! Put two cans (thanks Bilal) in about five minutes.

Very easy way of doing this job.
Now I have nice cold AC. HiHa!
