Yeah. Along with the Flamethrower 10,000 FC headlights. Lots of good stuff in that catalog.

Come to think of it, Crumpler's going to need a pair of MG Mitten Jack Brabham shorty gloves to handle that shifter after it has been pre-heated on sunny days.

Those are beautiful. Almost makes me want to convert my auto to manual.

You could probably mount it on a metal rod so you can actuate the gear selector. So you can get the nice look of those beautiful shift ***** and keep your automatic transmission.

Get the best of both worlds

Rob reminded me of the billet aluminum shift **** in my S2000. I had to wrap it in silicone tape so I could grab it in the summer heat. Forgot about that little detail. With a sunshade and a/c this **** should be OK.

Yeah. Felt a lot better, and if you wrap it carefully it looks rugged and industrial.

Damn, I didn't think about that sucker heating up in the sun. I'll spit on my hand first!
I'm diggin' the catalog, there's some stuff I would buy, just slightly before my time.

Speaking of age, here's an actual snippet of a text I sent today to a 928 buddy of mine you may know, but shall remain namless:

Me: "I put a feeler out in the 356 room to see if anybody had seen one of these ****'s in chrome before. There's no one in it."

Him: "Maybe they are all dead."

Me: "HaHAHaHAhahahaha."
"No ****."

Oh man, that made me laugh all over again while I typed it.

Back on topic:
Yes I wanted a industrial performance look.
Secretly, I always loved the Italian look with the shift gate.
The shift pattern was tight before, but now it feels rock solid.
You fellas have a good weekend, all my best.

That question was for the other Dave (Crump)

I asked because my wooden shift **** is a similar size and better for my hands.

356 guys are alive, just napping.

They're probably out driving their cars, which are as reliable as VW Beetles.

Just a quick FYI, for those following thread.
I did hear back from two 356'ers who think the **** is probably aftermarket after all.

Oh well, I'm still jazzed up.

My wife asked "if it was done" when she saw my work...
she is a great lady but has never shared my, enthusiasm let us say, for the car. (She became somewhat biased, just because there was a small fire the first time she rode in it. LOL)

It did prompt me to dress it up at little more and but a black leather wrap over the stick.

Yes you're probably right.

I broke every VW motor i owned though and there were many.

Looks awesome Dave.

Guess that explains the over sized extinguisher.

Hi Dave,
If the **** gets too hot, just put that cloth over it when you park in the sun.
Good luck,
Dave
