Ott-Links return - rebirth of the original
I approached Louie Earlier this year about making a batch of his renowned upgraded rear drop-links. I have finally found a shop that make the custom stainless steel reducer bushings and machine the swaybar channel.
This first batch will be rears for the later cars, and if there is enough demand, I will look at making parts for earlier cars, and offering matching front links.
These are identical to the original design, with just slight updates. The channels will be plated instead of painted. Rod ends will be a high quality chromoly with a polyamide liner. The reducer bushings are turned from stainless. I will also be including new mounting hardware for your convenience. All the hardware will be plated steel.
The assembly can be viewed (PC access only) here:
http://cloudviewer.spaceclaim.com/10...1a9521c83.html
I have ordered 25pairs for the first run. They will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Current lead time is 3-4weeks.
Price for a pair of late-model rear links from this first batch is $249+ shipping costs. I will accept pre-orders if you would like a guaranteed spot in line on the first run.
Thanks
Hans

Very nice.
So this is just the rears. I wasn't aware that there were model year differences that affected these. What are they and what's the cut-off?

The short answer is 21mm vs 22mm Rear Sway Bars, but there was a VIN split in 1981 for the changeover to the 22mm rear sway bar.
Kudos to Hans for bringing these back, I still remember all the fun Louie and I had in the late 90s sorting out these Drop Links for all the year models!
Cheers,
Dave

DR - Fun throwback moment looking over that webpage. I remember lusting after those hot suspension parts!
I knew the '80 got a bigger front bar but didn't know about the rear change later. Now I need one!

Hey, I just saw this thread and was reminded that I have a set of Louie's originals that I'm currently not using.
I removed them from my 84 before listing it for sale, and they've been sitting in a storage box ever since.
I was thinking I would eventually throw them up on eBay, but I'd be willing to sell them to one of you guys.
(sorry for the partial thread hijack - I hope it's okay - kinda hoping someone can put these to good use again).
I'm sure in the future I'll regret letting these go, but I could use the extra cash for some other stuff right now...
