Mechanic in Los Angeles area???
I need a decent 928 mechanic in the Los Angeles area. I tried Jules Hauer's number & it is disconnected. I am in Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys area.
Today I need someone to recharge the a/c. For another day, I need some real work.
Want someone who can do the work right & put everything back together right without destroying my interior too...

I know here in Wisconsin, any licensed shop is not supposed to "refill" A/C. They first must check for leaks since technically an A/C system should never be "low". Leaks must be fixed before they can fill the system and send the customer on their way.
If a second leak is found, the refrigerant must be sucked out and either left empty or the 2nd leak fixed.
I can only imagine the regulations for this are significantly higher in California.

Put the windows down and take it to Greg Brown. It'll be done right the first time, and you'll have peace of mind.

I've thought about making a trip down to Mexico.
That whole criminal prosecution issue is such a difficult problem to rationalize through....

I found R12. Seems the compressor is not wired right. Can anyone tell me what wires to connect to just hard wire the compressor to ON for today so I can drive in this heat. Then soon I can make the drive to OC to Gregs shop for everything else?

Like Randy said.....it helps to know what year 928 we are talking about.
Also, hard-wiring a compressor "ON" is dangerous. If the system pressure falls (or raises) to the point where the compressor should be automatically shut down and you leave it on, you could end up blowing a line and really damaging the system.

dont hard wire the compressor.
if its low on freon and you run it like that,
then the compressor can seize,
but first it will make metal and ruin the rest of the system.
Not really sure what the issue is with rolling down the windows.
