Don't know yet what sticker says. It has leather dash so there can be some Exclusive codes.

No 5 digit codes in sticker at all. Seat mounting bolts have paint in them as used by factory at production line and no signs of them ever being off. Can't prove it but seems like mistake in production line.

I had the high pressure hose leak on my 80 Euro S, smoke started come out from under the hood as I pulled up to a stoplight two years ago. Managed to get it off the road hood opened and realized all I had was half a cup of Starbucks coffee to put it out. Lucky for me it was just smoke not fire, the leaking PS fluid was dripping on the exhaust manifold and smoking. Replaced the hose and now my car has a Fire Extingusher mounted in it. Half a cup of Starbucks is not enough fire supression for any car.

More intake photos, please!

Did the 39mm valves flow more or less than the 37mm valves? ;-)

Not much to show. He's too busy building mods to take many pictures. Heads were bench flown and there was significant improvement. How large part of it came from 39mm intake valves I don't know.

Bump for this thread - I was driving my 87 to work this morning and at the first set of lights out of my suburb, noticed a little smoke out the left side of the engine bay.

So I turned around and drove the 2 miles home figuring it was a PS line, and before hopping in another car, had a look in the engine bay. Seeping leak from the top side of the high pressure line just in front of the restrictor.

Glad it didn't catch fire - looks like as of this weekend, both my 928's will have rebuilt PS lines on them - I put a rebuilt line on my 89 6 years ago.

I'll probably take the line apart myself and head to Pirtek or similar in a lunch hour this week. I have a spare new factory low pressure line on the shelf at home so will do that at the same time. I think these are the very last two bits of rubber in the engine bay which I haven't replaced (done heater hoses, coolant lines, oil cooler lines, fuel lines etc. already).

The high-pressure hose could have been damaged while dropping the engine in and pinching the hose against the head and doghouse. At least that's what happened to my 32v.

Luckily I was black-flagged and no fire despite oil all over the headers.

Just replaced my 26 year old gas and PS lines with Dr. Brown's units! So glad I did. They looked ok, but were brittle/weak. I'm SO glad you posted this! Thanks to you and Greg Brown for excellent products!

My very great sympathies to the owner. Oh dear.

One of Ford's 'new' models here in the early 2000's was bursting PS lines and going up in smoke.

Solution: a full length loose sleeve over the pressure line all the way to the rack. ATF is then out on the ground and not on a hot manifold.

Thanks for posting my post from a few months ago Nigel

Its reminded me to order some DEI fire sleeve to stick on the rebuilt line. Just added it to my shopping list.

Bumb...and reminder for us all: the original age of at least 21+ years will absolutely have taken care by now that also our PS lines will be "toast" (never mind if the car is garaged all it's life).

My original PS high pressure line started to leak several weeks ago as well, and I was very lucky to notice it almost immediately.
Hence: I stopped driving it till new replacement lines arrived and I followed the additional advice in this thread, and therefore also purchased a 1 3/8 - 1 1/2 * 3 feet "Cool it thermo sleeve" (as made by ThermoTec. No affiliation, appears proper quality).

PS pump out, and most (but not all) of the new replacement parts showing.

Showing the thermo sleeve in positions as additional procaution, all 3 feet put completely over the PS high pressure line. As always: thanks for all here on Rennlist to bring this additional knowledge to us all (and a special thanks for the local Finnish 928 "guru" Erkka, providing helping hands with this all).

Arnoud - I have never seen the support stay between the PS pump and the restrictor on the high pressure hose. Is that factory or did you add it?
