PVGP - That Time Again
The Pittsburgh Vintage grand Prix - now in its 32d year. Come join hundreds of your fellow p-car enthusiasts as we again gather on the lawn at Schenley Park to enjoy our cars, the races and above all, the camaraderie that has grown over the years. We always have a nice gathering of sharks - the 928 Owner's Club has been one of the sponsors of this event for the past several years. Now is the time to register and get this event on your calendar.
The PVGP takes place in scenic Schenley Park in the heart of Pittsburgh. This is one of 2 vintage races that occur on public streets in the world, the other being Monaco. It is also a significant charity fundraiser – proceeds are donated through the PVGP to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School.
This year promises to be the best yet, with some new events taking place, like the Top 10 Peoples’ Choice, a concours open to all registered Porsches. Here are the highlights of the activities to enjoy:
Friday, July 18:
See you at the races!
Note: Pre-registration closes Sunday July 13th at 11:59 PM. We may accept a limited number of late registrations (until Friday 12:00PM) but your credit card will be immediately charged and no refunds will be issued. Registrations after this point will be completed on-site at the Porsche Registration Table.

I will check our calendar. We had a great time last year. Lots of wonderful cars of all makes, models and eras at the Saturday show, a little spirited driving and good friends. Is Rick still the best Cornholer in the Greater Pittsburgh Area?

Great time every year. But, last year was the best so far with Ed hosting an outstanding party at his house and Otto and Robin coming up from MD. Possible party at my house this year.
To you all you Playahs. Look out, I've been practicing my "Corn Holing" all year so that I can retain my title!

Hi looks like about a two hr drive from the D, does it cost anything just to come and hang out other than a room?
Or is it like the P Parade and only the car show is open to the public/ non-registered?
(sold the my '11 Cooper S this past winter ;( however the sharks are WAY better on the Interstate
Dave
Edit: OK so it looks like $75 bucks, or you won't get a parking spot

You can come and not pay, but you won't be able to park on the golf course lawn with the other p-cars, or get the lunch, etc. But there is no charge to be there at Schenley Park, and hang out and check out the cars, or go to the Double Wide Grill party on Friday night and park there with the other p-cars, etc, plus cornholing at Rick's afterwards (if you are so inclined) doesn't cost anything unless Rick charges!
The PVGP is a free event, but the Porsche activities are thru the Allegheny Region PCA.
So, come on down either way!

If you are attending, there are lodging options listed on the ARPCA web site. Most are located in Cranberry Township north of the city and run around $110/night. There is a Red Roof Inn in Cranberry Township that is $85/night. ARPCA is hosting a party in Cranberry Township on Friday night.
There is also a Quality Inn in Gibsonia - which is a bit closer in and closer to Rick's for $89/night. For those who prefer a more homespun experience, I have exchanged emails with the owner of a small Bed and Breakfast in Gibsonia who will give a competitive rate if we fill up his three rooms. Please PM me if interested in the B and B.

be sure to tell them you are with the ARPCA group when booking, in order to get the group rate. There are about 20 rooms at each hotel.
