I'm sorry to say I have a conflict again this year, and will not be able to make it.
In fact, I'm ashamed to admit that I have never made it to Sharks in the Mountains.
It is always held during a very difficult time of year for us with all of our kids' activities.
The last time I saw Dave in person was at "Sharks in the Harbor". Anyone remember those?
That was back when he operated out of Kennesaw, GA (before moving up to Spruce Pine).
They used to hold the annual gathering at Lake Allatoona (in the northern suburbs of Atlanta).
I was a newbie to the 928 world, and their wonderful hospitality made me feel very welcome.
The last one of those had to be like maybe back in the late nineties...(?).
Damn, the older I get, the faster time seems to fly by...
Have fun and enjoy the gathering (post some pics).
I'll hoist one with you in absentia!

Our household is pretty excited for SITM. As my 11-year old who will be accompanying me says, "It is a family tradition".

Dave and Jeannie run a spectacular event. I will be driving the 928 nearly every day in the month leading up to the event to be sure I am aware of any issues.

We'll be driving up from Florida. Here's my list of "To Do's" before SITM...

- Ground Cleaning (including Engine to Frame cable)
- CE cleaning with Deoxit
- Install new Delrin steering bushings - DONE
- Change Oil and top up other fluids
- Change Air Filter (annually before SITM)
- Clean Sunroof Drains (annually before SITM) - DONE
- Lubricate hinges (hood, door, etc... - annually before SITM)
- Fix broken Y-Pipe - DONE
- Re-Charge AC - DONE (I HOPE)
- Clean AC EVAP Coils AND Condenser
- Paint Rims - DONE
- Paint Rotor Hats Flat Black - DONE
- Replace Floor Mats with new Lloyd's Mats (and show 928 Specialists some love) - DONE
- Replace Rear Hatch Luggage Cover with one made by chitown928 - DONE
- Replace alternator cooling hose - DONE
- Chase down intermittent Non-Op Fan
- And last but not least perform extreme detailing including:
  1. Remove Wheels and Pressure Wash Fenders and Underbody
  2. Clean Calipers and Wax Calipers and Wheels
  3. Refinish Painted Surfaces (three stage polishing)
  4. Condition all Leather/Vinyl with (new to me) Gliptone products
  5. Apply fresh "Back-to-Black" to rear spoiler and bumperettes
  6. Seriously scrub all jams, gas filler area, gas cap, etc...
  7. Make engine compartment presentable
  8. Apply Rain-X

- Get new stereo dialed-in
- Figure out playlist for trip
- Determine if the Windows Surface tablet is going to be an over the road device (GPS, Music, etc...)

Hope everyone who is going is as excited as we are

Taking a shake down trip this week weather permitting

Unfortunately I lost my job I'd been working the last 19 years so I really don't have anything better to do with my time then hang out with a bunch on 928 nuts. Sorry about your luck, but Auzivision will be there once again! Has anyone been working on coordinating a fun run from Alcoa yet?

jej3, like that "to do list". We plan on leaving Houston on the 4th and taking a nice leisurely 2 day run to make our first SITM. Our route will take us I10 east from Houston to I20/59 out of La. through Birmingham, AL., Chattanooga, Tn. ( UT Chattanooga my alma mater ) Knoxville, then on into Banner Elk.
Hopefully we can catch up to a few 928aters along the way and convoy in 928 style. Love Fla. my avatar is my daughter and son on our trip to the Keys last May. Had a Blast. I grew up in Beaufort, S.C. and we used to dive at Crystal River with the manatee's, I also spent time at Pensacola while in the USMC. Great beaches, St Augustine was great too.
Will see you and everyone else at SITM.

Damn Kurt... I am so sorry to hear that. Cut you loose just before you could retire? Bad karma shall visit them one day...

It will be great to see you as always!

First time in many years, the fraggle family won't be there. I have to go to Tiawan for work. We will for sure miss everyone, and at least you don't have to follow me down a dead end gravel road for the fun run.

To bad, hope to see you next year. Was it your car that got the rock in the caliper when turning around?

Yep, that was me! Had a nice stop up at the top of the mountain with Kevin L to get it out of there.

I will be at Frenzy!

I've been super busy at work lately (has my absence been noticed?). I'll be in Milan, Italy just before the event, but I might actually be able to make it there in the Euro depending on the wife's work schedule and kids.
