Default Should I or shoudn,t I ....?

Just wondering what the general consensus is regarding my car which has been stored since November 1st last year?
It,s stored in a heated dehumidified garage, and I regularly check obvious things like tyres and any underside leaks,( I push the car back and forth every few days so no flat spotting).., thankfully all is ok.
During this lay up Iv,e never started the car although the battery is on a maintainer, but I,ve been sorely tempted to start her, just to see , well !... if she is ok. do I or dont I, or just leave till April when I can actually run the car properly ?

Leave it till you can start and fully heat soak everything.

Yes: Why would you store it?

My $0.928: When you do start it, before you do, pull the fuel pump fuse and crank that starter in 5-second intervals until you see the oil pressure gauge move. Then put the fuse back in and start it normally. After it sits for weeks all the oil film drains away and it can take a couple of seconds to get oil through to everything. Normally, if the car's been started within the last week oil pressure is almost instantaneous. That fews seconds of no oil pressure, when repeated often-enough, will cause lots of wear.

You shouldn't.

As others have said, wait until you can run it long enough to fully warm it up. Firing it up just to hear it run for a few minutes is so tempting. But it's a bad idea.

Dave's idea of cranking it with the fuel pump disabled until you see oil pressure is a good one. The worst wear is on startup with no oil.

Mine has been sitting since the last week in November too. I go see it and work on it fairly often, but we still have a bunch of snow on the ground here and spring feels like it's a long, long way off.

I feel your pain.

I store my 928 every year from Nov to April. Full tank + fuel stabilizer, tires slightly overinflated, battery on a trickle charger and cover put on. I leave it alone for 5 months and it'll start just as if you had left it the night before!

mine has been sitting since November, this is the longest I have ever gone too without starting it and letting it run (or taking it for a 20 min drive) because of the winter we are having. It should not be a problem though, and I really like Dave's tip.

Many thanks for the advice everyone, I think what Wisconsin Joe says rings true Quote ( Firing it up just to hear it run for a few minutes is so tempting. )
Your kind of wondering if she,s still alive, or, not ?. and ache just to hear that lovely V8 burble once more, or if it might be a six cylinder effort (Ha ha)
Guess it,s just a few more weeks to wait, and I,ll remove the pump fuse as Dave mentions,

In a similar boat Ed, last November seems like light years ago to me and mine also has stood the longest since I owned her, it,s funny really, as all the years Iv,e owned her, I still get excited when the time comes round to waking her up.

I honestly did not realize that they salted roads in the UK. I thought it mostly just rained...

I've been thinking about getting a set of Blizzaks.

Hi Shawn, you,re right about the rain, worst year ever here, although us being further North we don,t have the floods they get in the South, we usually get snow, though this year touch wood we haven,t.., and when it does rain it usually freezes soon after, hence tons of salt, thrown around, like it,s going out of fashion.., heck I just think they like putting it down for the hell of it sometimes.

Incidentally what are " Blizzaks" ?

Bridgestone blizzaks are a winter tire.

I drive mine year round, rain, snow, sleet, or shine.

Bought an old range rover for less than a set of blizzacks and it came with a brand new set of goodyear wrangler m&s tires in the back.
