That's a lot of scratch for a respray.
I'm sure it was a top notch job, even so.
But, there's always folks with $80K of 'silly money'.

Can't get $79K if you don't ask $79K. There has been well in excess of $100K spent on this car in the past 6 years, including a stem-to-stern re-do by Greg Brown- Complete engine rebuild, complete transmission rebuild, brand new calipers all around, etc. Then add a complete repaint under Alan's ownership and the supercharger. This really is one of those cars for which the mileage is meaningless, it's a nearly new car in an incredibly rare wrapper.

And the celebrity ownership has to be worth something:

If I had to wager a guess, that car has had in excess of $200k spent on it in the last 6 years. It is a one of one color and only the finest tradesmen and parts have been deployed in its "refresh". There are a lot of firsts on that car by Greg Brown, Paul Champagne, and the amazing parts suppliers in our community, Mark, Roger, Carl, Hans and many others. Alan was a super fastidious person. The original paint on the car was a solid 8.75 - 9.0 but he needed it to be perfect. Same can be said for the power adders he implemented. Most do not know but that car also has the well enhanced AC system (two condensors, the stock one and a 993 turbo unit hidden in the passenger front wheel well. When you add it all up, This car begins to approach a Magnus or Singer "lite" quality car.

Regarding the celebrity provenance, I'll only say that previous owner was a handsome SOB. I've seen him naked and have worn his underwear. Most won't understand this, but I best confess it here.

Why don't you expound on that for us, Muffin?

The interesting thing about the picture in post #62 (and post# 63) is that Dan's arm was in a sling for that entire trip, Jim Corenman was his "driver" for the trip, and I believe that this was the total extent of Dan's driving during the entire trip to Third Coast. The picture was taken by Don Carter, I seem to remember, during a winery stop during our Saturday drive. Amazingly, and if memory serves correctly, this "drive" was at the beginning of the winery stop and not after.

I think we need to get Dan to come back to Third Coast again.

Hello everyone,
Sorry for not responding sooner. Lot's of travel and business integration taking up quite a bit of my time.

OK, the Zy Car is doing well and at a friend's shop for sale in Miami. A few reasons have sparked why I should sell. I can only comment on two for now:
1) Alvaro at Parkhaus1 has interested parties
2) I also have another car purchased and too much cash out

The car is magnificent and will command a high selling figure. There have been decent offers lately while at Parkhaus1, but rejected. Someone mentioned in this post that I rejected or was offered $45K last year, not so. I have rejected offers in the mid $50K range as of last year.

This car has a following and history by prominent previous owners that have only shown the best of care. This car is a one of one and has had quite a bit of activity in Miami. I am not in a hurry to sell the car and expect the right person to come along soon. Car has received in depth PPI from a few interested parties that are still in the picture. This car may likely head overseas to a new owner.

Hi Alan,

So how much is Parkhaus1 asking for the car?

Between here and FB, there's been lots of conflicting information.

I'm not a buyer, but (like others) just enjoying following along.

It's a beautiful car, my friend. Good luck with the sale!
