Default Has anyone ever wrapped a dash?

This came up at 3rd Coast. Wrapped cars look pretty good, could one wrap a dash, console, etc. w/ good results as well?

You would be able to form it to the curves w/ heat, however I don't believe it (the wrap) will stick to the dash.

Wrapping the smooth plastic pieces should work just fine, however the textured plastics and leather will be very difficult if not impossible

I had a pretty easy time wrapping my modified dash in this navy blue leather.
You could fill the cracks that i assume you've got and glue down leather.

I think a wrap would work pretty well with the right surface prep. 3M and probably others make a wrap adhesive for tight curves which would help. If you do it, pics to prove it!

There's a heat activated adhesive called 'Balsa Right' that is used if you decide to cover your R/C plane with cloth instead of MonoKote. It's not a contact adhesive, you paint it on the surface to be covered, then iron the cloth covering on. I set my covering iron to about 275-300 degrees when I use Balsa-Rite. I don't know how it would stand up to a sun heated dash, but the covering on my planes doesn't peel up after sitting in the sun all afternoon at the field. Something to think about, anyway.

There was a Youtube vide with a kid recovering his 944 dash in situ with vinyl, glue, and a heat gun.
