The RCA cable should be 6-7 ft if you are buying pre-made. I am going to try an 8ft one and see if I can hide it along the front console, to the right of the driver seat and then up the side of the rear seat and into the spare wheel well.
Amazon or Radio Shack (if you need it today). Also monoprice.com (great prices and shielded)

I purchased a subwoofer wire kit at Orielly auto parts. It came with all the wires I needed.

Ok. The subwoofer is wired but not working. Does it have a built in amplifier or needs and external amplifier?
Also my head unit has a wire for switching on an external amplifier. Can I use this wire to turn the subwoofer on?
Thanks

Sean installed mine yesterday, worked about 4 minutes. I will seek a replacement, but I see a sharkwoffer in my future.

Fish73,
What happened? Did it burn out or the wires came undone?

Built-in, taking either pre-out or speaker-level signals. I rewired mine to bypass the internal amp.

Gonna go jack with it for a while, was installed with new headunit. Pioneer PRS-80. On my way home last night I noticed the headunit was in Demo mode. It may have kicked off when going into Demo is my hope. When I get everything setup I will report back.

Do you have the remote-on wire connected? The amp won't switch on without it. Does the red light come on?

Ok, just found that the red power wire came out of the new connector I had installed. On my way to autozone to get some wire and connectors. Will report back when I have it reconnected.

Got one too that I need to install (some day!).

If I understand well, I need:

- One "Two RCA cables" from head unit to sub.
- One wire from head unit to sub. What length for this one and the RCA cables please?
- One wire to power the sub. Sub to battery +.
- And one from sub to ground.

Right?

Thank you.

Ok. Got the subwoofer to work. My power connection had come off the connector I had installed.
Bertrand,
You need a RCA cable from the head unit to the subwoofer. 6' premise wires from radio shack worked well.
You need one wire from the head unit to the subwoofer to turn it on. I connected my auxiliary amp signal wire to the yellow wire on the subwoofer.
The red wire with the fuse gets connected directly to the battery.
And the ground wire connected right behind the cover.
