Default Speedometer/odometer

2 days ago, I was on the freeway and my speedometer/odometer just stopped working. It's around 112,000 miles. I assumed it was broken.

Yesterday I started driving and the speedometer started spiking up and down. Then it went close to where it should be, but wobbly. Then to zero. It repeated this sequence a couple times. Then it started working fine.

Today I drove it and it worked fine too. Any ideas what might be going on here?

A loose connection someplace in the circuit between the sender in the transaxle and the head unit. Lots of opportunities. Have you done anything recently that may provide a starting point to look?

most likely a loose connectin somewhere in the system. the ODO gear typically won't effect the speedo function.
