Default footwell light?

I was taking out the light and wiper rheostats to clean and check resistance in my 82 5speed when I saw what looks like a threaded light receptacle but without a bulb stuffed up in the pod. There is an open hole next to the right rheostat that fits the light housing. Is that a footwell light? Thanks

I looked up your MY on PET and it looks like it is the button for the trip reset. Didn't see any lights.

Keep this for future use.

Well that makes sense as the trip reset button doesn't have a functioning light. I will have to look into that as my entire interior is out so I have a lot of maneuvering space for a few more days.
