Default Where to route gas tank breather?

Clearing out the engine compartment on the track car, and would really like to get rid of the charcoal canister if possible. I don't know what a good solution would be for the gas tank breather line that runs to it. Should I just leave it in place, or is there another solution (other than a fuel cell.) I'm presuming that corking it would be a bad idea.

Thanks for any help.

Early ROW have a line from the vapor separator (above the right rear wheel) to behind the bumper cover, in the center of the car.

Early USA have the carbon cannister at the front, with an overflow hose to the airbox.

From '85, USA, the overflow goes back behind the rear bumper.
(Into the airbox might be bad when the MAF burns off?)

I have a fuel cell but use the stock chamber in the rear wheel well with an inline filter and hose on the end that would normally go to the charcoal canister. You can route that 'vent' hose anywhere safe, it doesn't need to go to the front.
That chamber works very well and prevents venting issues that fuel cell installations often have.

Thanks for input guys,

Mike, what did you use for an inline filter? Something like a disposable inline fuel filter? Have you ever seen any liquid fuel escape or has it only been vapor?

On my old '81, I put a disposable filter in place of the surge/separator tank.

I have a disposable metal body filter with 5/16 ends.
Before I put the stock chamber (back) in, I did have problems with venting. You would think that a length of hose would suffice for a fuel cell vent but this is a common problem. If too short you get spillage, if longer you get restricted breathing when fuel pools in the hose.

Now it works well and I never think about it.
