There really isn't any logical reason to go larger displacement than 5.0L with a turbo motor. Stroking the 2.5L to 2.8L makes sense because it gives one more low-end power before the turbos have spooled. With a 5.0L, you have enough low end power already so adding displacement is really not necessary. For these V8's, it's all about the flow capacity of the external turbo system. My opinion anyway.

Offset grinding the crank is a viable solution as long as one stays within the induction hardening layer. After that, going deeper, I think one has to nitride the crankshaft. One good idea that the 944 people have is turning down the rod journals of the stock crankshaft to 2" diameter, which allows for using of better bearings. I am thinking more people in the 928 world should be doing that.

Is there any pictures of this build and maby enginebay somewhere?

I'm the kind of guy that also may be crazy enough to at least turbocharge my 928. But where do you put the turbos? Under the heads/car? Then what about oil return, do you use a electrical oil pump of some sort?

Wow, simply amazing.

How much rubber does it take to hook something like that up?

What tire _could_ put down 940 hp and then not 'roll over' or fall off the bead going around the first turn?

With apologies for reposting Erik's possibly copyrighted picture, looks like 315's. Love the treadwear rating- is that a subtle suggestion that they don't warranty any tread life?

Thanks for hosting/putting up the pix! I'm hoping for a track vid, the last iteration really hoovered up the tarmac.

That exhaust/turbo assembly looks just about F1 caliber..first time the term 'off the hook' has popped into my head as anything other than a joke. The floorpan on the other hand....looks a bit more 'functional'....but then I have no idea what F1 floor/suspension work looks like!

I want one. Still interested in trans adaptation and the CV joint/axle composition- kryptonite? haha

Edit- Tires: Temperature C and Traction C?

Great work Todd! Can't wait to see it again and get another ride. Maybe I can get my crappy little Euro project together in time for this fall.
