Installed these seals a few weeks ago and I noticed....nothing No wind noise whatsoever. These are a must have for any pre-GTS.

These were professionally high speed (very high speed for over two hours at a stretch) tested across certain desert and mountain roads on the way to Sharks in Ice. They work. Great noise reduction and actually make cleaning the bugs away easier after above mentioned classified high speed runs. Get a set, you won't regret it.

This wind noise must be an S4 thing.

I like these for aesthetics.

Sorry if an enzo, but I was watching this Volvo video the other day and at 1:30, he mentions that on older Volvos, a similar gap was there to collect water and channel it back over the top of the car after the windshield wiper swept it away. The purpose was to keep rain that is swept to the side by the wiper from pouring into cracked-open windows. It made me wonder if the gap on the 928 was originally for this purpose and then later the engineers said screw it and filled it in.

You mean no more packaging tape for those long trips. The wind noise on my passenger side of my '87 drives me crazy (or is that just me drive crazy with that wind noise).

Thanks Roger I PMed you for a set

I'm about to install mine. The extrusion looks way too thick to fit in the channel. Particularly an issue towards the top of the channel where the gap narrows on my car. Any insights from those who have installed it?

Any photos/suggestions on the cuts for the top and bottom of the insert?

Thanks!
Bob

I put a razor in a vise and trim the seal to fit. Of the 6 or so cars I've done, not a single one was the same so each car will take different trimmings.

I had a bunch of pictures that I took so I could make a write up for Roger but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Whatever you do, do NOT force them in or you will crack the windshield.

Thanks, Sean. That makes sense.

I wonder if you need to trim the OE pieces from Porsche?

Did mine on the 89 this weekend. Made a huge difference in road noise.
