Thanks Brian, It's a nice feeling to have this I honestly never thought I'd find one. I'll post pics of it and weigh the assembly [includes visors] before i install and try and find a way to lose what I've added.
Did a cold compression test recently on this car after it sat for months and it was very, very good and even. It was within a few psi and dead on even for most of the cylinders. number one cylinder was down 2 psi @ 160, rest where about 161 psi and #7 i think was 162 or 3 which i think is very good cold for an '83S with 9.3:1 CR.
As another Porsche reference, my 1986 911 3.2L with 9.5:1 nominal CR saw 150-155 psi cold test with around the same miles when i bought it [65k miles] The numbers were not as even as with my 928 and slightly lower by an average of about 5 psi.

Are these vanity mirrors from a 928? If so, were they an option?
I had a car with these (or similar) Either in my 1985 928s2, or a 1989 BMW 535iS
Can't remember but always thought they were cool.

I've never seen these cool flip down mirrors either. They're on both sides and lit too. I'll ask the seller what year 928 it's out of. Not something I care about but cool none the less. They're definitely a factory item.

Yeah, Matt's gone all soft on us- Next thing you know there'll be a cupholder and an inverter for his hairdryer.
Real men go mirror delete....

I hope you're feeling better Dave. Let's talk soon.
LOL,
You're doing a beautiful job with your Zombie motor Rob. The pistons and con rods are just works of art.
And you must be a mind reader, I am going soft. I have been thinking about cup holders in the RS !
The seller [Drooman] just texted me that these mirrors are common on/in non-sunroof cars up to 1984. My new roof liner with blow dryer outlet came out of a '83. It was meant to be.
I'll start growing the mullet.

Flip-down vanity mirror was a 78-79 thing, where the majority were non-sunroof.
Your's was from a '79.
Only on the passenger side, but there were provisions for both sides (think RHD).
Too bad it was only for the passenger. How am I to pop zits, clear nose, and clean teeth before going clubbing in my 928!
Sometimes those Porsche engineers just weren't thinkin'

Those makeup mirrors were available up to and including '86 if I remember correctly.
Matt, if you are getting rid of one would you be interested in selling it? I'm short one for my driver's side.
Cheers!

One visor clip is bad so i couldn't install both, but what a difference when you get into the car.
I need a few other smaller bits and will make a list for 928 International.
Next, I will be installing curved Lexan quarter windows and door glass that adjusts by leather strap like am early 911R.
So glad I didn't sell to either one of those "interested" parties.
I did glean an interesting nugget from one of the tire kickers..
He [ let's call him Jim b/c that's his name] said his 928 Mechanic [guy named Sonic down in GA i think] was building a copy cat of my car for a Chinese Customer and that I should know there will be many similarities..
Wasn't this a Speed Racer episode?..

I don't know why that pisses me off but it does.
Ok, Actually, I know why it pisses me off. It's one thing to look at someone's work and think it's great and want to emulate it.
Completely different thing to (and very Chinese BTW) copy someone's ideas and try to make a profit on it.
I call bull**** on this guy.

Anyway an "Mariani 928 RS" clone is being made as we speak.
It'll probably be featured in Pano

I need the entire assembly, but no worries, I'll give Tom a call tomorrow.
Car looks great Matt! Glad to hear you're keeping it.
Cheers!
