No Electrical Power..
So I left me sunroof open last night in a shoert rain storm. I was on a stage hosting a charity event with Eddie Money. By the time i was able to get to my car it had stopped raining. I wiped everything down and went back to the event. Later, I went to leave and the car started fine. I did a little fish tail and scurried on out of the parking lot and went home. I shut the car of then noticed the pass side window was cracked open a little so re inserted my key and.... nothing. No power, no juice. The car is in park and the connections are tight. At the moment the battery is on a charger.
Ideas?

Would have been good to know the status of the battery when there was no power. Might have some saved some diagnostic maneuvers. Aside from the rain thing, what is the status of the ground strap in the rear ? Have you had any recent electrical/running issues ? Now for the rain - did the the passenger footwell/CE panel appear wet ?

Footwell was fine. Ground strap is solid and tight. The batt in new. Letting it charge a bit while doing a dad dinner. I'll check back in an hour or so. The batt is 3 months old.

If battery has voltage (check at the battery) and you still have no voltage at hot post (or clinically when you open a door or turn the key) you will have to check the posts at the starter to see if a dis-union. Your battery connects there first.

Degradation more common at proximal end due to acidic battery fumes.

dont touch the ground strap YET
get a battery jumper cable and connect it to the negative terminal,
then to one of the rear shock mount bolts,
try to start the car if it runs then your ground cable or its connection is bad.
Check the hot post to see if water has corroded the pins at the 14 pin connector.
You should have a hot post cover fitted to prevent this

ok i got back to the car and started poking around. the ground strap is'nt making good contact to the frame post. I took a wire brush to it but still touchy. May have to add a washer to it to press it into its contact position better. I was able to find a sweet spot and get her started.

I think 928 International sells a reproduction ground strap for not too much money. It sounds like you should get one and clean your main ground point very well.
Good luck,
Dave
