I couldn't be happier with the 6-speed in my Supercharged '79. The gear ratios are now excellent for the increased power, shifting is like that of a modern car - any gear to any gear without double-clutching, and I can cruise on the interstate at 80/85 turning 2,000 RPM. Carl did an excellent job with the design of the kit and in my case the installation, not to mention he banged it out in about 3 days. If he can do the same thing for the guys that want an auto or paddle-shift setup, they'll be thrilled too.

Madturk - do you want the 6-speed manual or the Automatic?
And is your car a manual now, or an automatic?
I have quite a bit of information on the manual-to-manual swap here:

Carl, the car is an auto now. I think the 6 speed is and amazing option. I've done the same thing(5 speed to 6 speed with diff) on my old BMW M Roadster and turned the car into an animal.
From what I read, I need the 6 speed corvette tranny with the diff+$8800 kit+ about $2K in labor. So, about $13K???
That is steep.. I am sure it would be great but $13K???
Also, how much is the labor for the stage 1 SC set up?
I see the kit is $5395.00
I'd suppose the car would become an absolute animal with the SC and 6 speed. But that sounds like about $20K.
Somebody please tell me I am way off.

We can talk... they aren't in similar areas (like doing a water pump and timing belt while installing a supercharger, or replacing a oil pan gasket while replacing the motor mounts) so we cannot save a lot of time by doing both at the same time.
But, I will do what I can. And how about that water pump and timing belt service? Do you need that?

well that's a good one to do with the supercharger install. We will be all front-of-motor and its good to do the timing belt and water pump while we have the radiator out and before we cover it up with a supercharger.
