Tony - thanks for the email, but I am looking for the adjustable links. I believe one of the brand names is 'steroid links' or the like.

again, thanks for taking the time to send an email.

Rick,

Louie Ott designed and sold rear swaybar links that were often called "steroid links", or "Ott Links". They shorten the lever-arm on the rear swaybar and increase roll-stiffness in the rear. The result is, in my experience, a very neutral-handling car. I like them, a lot.

I don't know if Louie still has any sets. You might try a PM or email to "Louie928" here on RL. You might also check with Roger, I recall that he had some sets for sale at one point.

Also try a search for "Ott Swaybar Links" (without quotes) and you will find lots of information on the subject.

Cheers, Jim

Rick,
I think 928 Specialists (Dave Roberts) sells them too? That's where I got my front/rear sway bars (1st generation) and adjustable drop links several years ago.

Cheers!

Rick,

we have them here:
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/droplinks.php

The center barrel is a true turn-buckle design, so you do not have to remove one end to adjust the length. You just turn the center section to make them longer and shorter. Secure with jam nut provided.

Louie's were that way also, left-hand threads at one end and right-hand at the other. I would advise jam-nuts at both ends, to keep the threads tight and prevent steel from working against the aluminum turnbuckle.

Here's another thread from a ways back, post#10 shows Louie's upper mount which shortens the lever-arm and effectively stiffens the bar.

Carl, your links are adjustable for length, but link length doesn't change anything (except preload for circle-tracks). It looks like the only provision to increase stiffness is drilling new holes to the bar. Is that correct, or am I missing something?

And I am assuming the OP's intent is to increase roll-stiffness, but maybe I am missing something there also.

You are correct. Those are adjustable drop links only. They make no provision for changing the geometry or the "leverage" and therefor the stiffness of the sway bar.

Like DR - when we introduced our new sway bar it made no sense to carry both.

In the front, we have some very nice sway bars:

...and in the rear, we have a rear sway bar mount (with handy tie-down hook) that allows you to change the "leverage point" several times - not just once. See here:
