New Product: 928 Wiring Harnesses to be added to our product lines
We have been making 928 Engine wiring harnesses for about 6 years now. This month we have decided to expand our product offering to include the 928 Injector Harness and the 944, 944S, S2 and 951 engine wiring harnesses.
At the moment, the plan with the 928 Injector Wiring Harness is to cut in a connector about 8" into the engine compartment from the firewall grommet.
Then all wiring (and connectors) from that weather-tight connector forward
will be new. This is how we are doing the 944 and 951 harnesses.
Several reasons for this design: 1) the DME connectors for the LH and EZK are crazy expensive and this way we don't have to buy them; 2) the wiring inside the car (behind the firewall) on the 928 is in fine shape and rarely needs replacement; and 3) this give you a much-wanted plug-in connector at the firewall so you can just unplug the engine and take the wiring harness in and out with the motor, and 4) by having the 928 owner send us their harness and we add the connector and all new wires and send it back, we KNOW we have built you and sent you the right harness for your car because we are returning your very own harness to you.
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE OF OUR ENGINE WIRING HARNESSES INSTALLED: please post a note about what you think of it.
Thank you

:O You gotta be kiddin me!! Fuggin awesome!! You must have seen my posts about wanting to buy a brand new LH-Jet harness! This is seriously much needed IMO, and great innovation/thinking behind the connector idea to separate interior and engine bay wiring.
Couple questions; What is the basis for replacing wires/connectors? Do you replace every wire and connector from that connector back? How much for an 87 LH-Jet harness "rebuild" from you? Does it depend on condition of our harness?

The engine wiring harness is all new.
The injector wiring harness is built from the one you send us. Maybe I did not make this clear - we do not feel the DME connectors are bad very often, and we can save you a lot of money by just using yours. So, from the firewall connector we install in to YOUR injector wiring harness, it will be all new wires and connectors from that forward.
jleidel: I dont recall trying to sell anything in this thread. Just informing you what is in development. Some will buy as represented. Some, perhaps like you, will wait until others have purchased and see what they have to say first. Whatever.

This is great news Carl and a much needed product.
To those wondering, even Carl's greatest critic praised his engine harness.

I have silicone/fiberglass braid on all my harnesses... worth every penny. even new wire can get hurt by heat. never thought of velcro resealing..... would make working easier for sure... :-P

I would love to see pics of your finished injector harness once it is fabricated. Since my MAF harness had given me problems before, and my injector wires are toasty, this would be a viable option for me.

There is one connector that is giving us fits. It is the connector for the timing belt sensor on later cars.
Picture shown. Does anybody recognise this? Usually, we find it is also in use elsewhere inthe Porsche system, and we did find a "Speedometer extension" in the 944 that uses this end as well. But that part is NLA.
Any ideas?
