You fly or drive down with a friend, (I recommend Plan "B") buy the car, stick a temp permit in the windshield, or on the rear glass, and drive home... it's a "road trip". (Bear in mind that long, high speed highway runs are what these cars were engineered for).
And you have HUGE benefit that people here know the recent history of the car, it was owned by an enthusiast who knew and cared about what he was doing... You get a great car, a great road trip, great photos, good memories.........bonus!.

And winter is just beginning... and the road trip would have to cross the Rockies... and the plains... and the mid-west... and the north-east and from the border to home.
Didn't notice that there were snow tires included
I did check out shipping and it would be over 1000$

You can easily just cut across the bottom of the states and then drive straight up. If there is a will there is a way. I have a feeling you don't have the will.

Seems to me this car is worth every bit of $6K... easy. But, your right it shouldnt last too long. My brother is looking for a Porsche and I called him about this one... Unfortunately, he's dead set on a 911... cant imagine why as it wont be nearly as nice and will cost 3X as much... but thats his thing...

This would solve everyone's problems I think. Unless Val needs to get the car out of there right way.
Also Val, many states don't do smog testing on 20+ year old cars and/or the owner can get a set of 'vintage' plates and not have to pass the smog test. I'm sure whatever it's failing for can be fixed, I don't think that's much of an issue for most of the world, just in Cali.

Having a car shipped 3500 miles for $1000 seems like a good value. It is a still a lot of money to add to a sale price but considering the trip, it seems VERY reasonable.

How about I ask 8K for the car? Do you think I'll find a buyer here on the list?
That is a freakin' steal... There are a couple of guys on here looking for "decent" 928s in the $5K to $10K range... This is THE car and its well above decent! If I had the cash I'd already have the plane tickets in my hand... Oh, and I'd give her more than $5K too... because # 1: the car is worth much more, and # 2 Cause thats how we roll...

But, of course, there's the negotiating...
I don't have to have it out of here immediately. It's safely in the garage. It's just very hard, emotionally, for me to keep seeing it every time I go to the garage... several times daily. I'd rather move it sooner rather than later, but I don't want to give it away, either. It will be another two years before there's any kind of significant income around here, and it would be nice to have the cash in hand. If I felt confident handling the beast on that long a trip, I'd drive it to Texas for one of you TX folks, and then fly back. I have friends in Austin and in the Dallas area.

Is it just the pictures or is that left front fender a slightly lighter colour than the rest of the car?
