Default 928 Classics - an introduction

Just wanted to introduce my 928 restoration business, 928 Classics. I've been plugging along on it for the past year, to include sponsorship of last year's Frenzy 16.

Mission: Dedicated to the restoration and preservation of early 928s

What this means is I have a strong passion and desire to preserve and elevate the early 928 (77, 78, 79) into the classic status it deserves, given it's place in Porsche history.
Our 928s aren't getting any younger, and the earliest of examples need serious attention. It seems almost daily, these classics are falling off due to attrition.

It's my strong goal to bring back as many as I can get my hands on. I'm prepared to help you with your 928 restoration project.

928 Classics is a client-based business, and all you early 928s owners and your cars are my clients. I'm here to help you in any way.
If you have a need, please contact me anytime to discuss your project. I could be your consulant, or provide restoration services on any level.
A project plan will be tuned to your individual needs and budget.

I'm very excited about the future of our cars, and 928 Classics looks forward to serving you. Thanks!

Default A bit about me...

I'm located in Richmond, Virginia and work as a product design engineer for SPARK Engineering.
I've been in this profession for over 17 years now, and served a range of clients from startup inventors to corporate engineering.

I've been a 928 enthusiast since the late 90's, and enjoyed ownership of many 928s (too many, is that possible?). My first was an 80 US Auto, followed by an 84 EuroS 5 speed. The rest are in current ownership, shown in my signature.

Over the years, I've made connections and friendships with many people throughout to community, both on RL and via national 928 events. This community and shared passion for the marque is what drives me on. Seriously couldn't do it without you.

My short-term goals are very exciting and promising. I look forward to finishing my first clients car by this spring (with hopefully a trip to SITM in his fresh OB 928?).
Also, I will keep on restoring my #6 pre-production press car in preparation for PCA preservation class in a couple years. And yes, I will be driving it to events!
I plan to have available my modern 18" Phone Dial wheel before the end of 2013, hopefully sooner.
I'm working on a 5.0L 16V EuroS Hybrid engine rebuild this winter. This is an interesting project to me and it will be even cooler when I have a 928 in which to install it!

Long-term goals include new clients and to continue developing relationships. Also will be looking for a larger shop.
As this business grows, I plan to use my product development background to make/offer products needed for our early 928s.

My ultimate goal is to restore my #1 pre-production press car. It's the oldest 928 in the world, and it deserves a best-in-class restoration to re-establish its place in history.

I'll do my best to keep ya'll posted on my progress. Also, feel free to check out http://928classics.com/ as I continue to keep it updated (see photos & blog)

Thanks for reading!

Wish your business the very best. It was great talking to you at Frenzy this year. These cars deserve some recognition and respect. I hope that "us" owners and the businesses that support us have a great year this year.

Congratulations and good luck! Nice to see these cars getting the attention they deserve.

The web site looks great, only have one issue and that is unless you are a Facebook member, you can't access the blogs or pictures. For me personally, Facebook's privacy track record and usage policies makes that a big turnoff for me (and reason I deleted mine for good). Again, that is just my personal feelings, but if it was my company website, I would not force potential clients to join a social networking site in order to access my site. Again, just my humble opinion, and again my truly best wishes on your endeavor.

Cheers!
Carl

EDIT: I guess the blog is "duplicated" on both your site and Facebook, so maybe not a big deal

All behind the scenes. Mostly NOS parts purchases. It's an expensive undertaking, buying the parts alone. I do this as budget permits.

I'm hoping I will still be alive when that happens!
