Default Rescued 82 5 Spd Now Home

Took a drive from Phoenix to Merced California and picked up a running 82 US 5 spd which passed CA smog and was registered.

Of course shes not perfect but - all in all, a nice little find.

Came with Complete Service Manuals - Fender cover - and MISC items

The phone dials look like they have good luster to them.

Body is way clean and straight - ZERO dings. Leasther dash (Rest of interior needs replaced)

My understanding is that is a 100% Cali car -

Lets just say - I practically stole her for what I paid.

Looks like its time to renew my membership as well!

Unusual for a 5 spd to be on 15 inch phone dials, that was the "comfort" option . All phone dials were painted finish wheels.

Nice 82- I am a little biased thou
Jim, why were the 15" considered comfort wheels? And were they stock on the automatics?

Standard 15" on autos, 16" on 5-speeds.

15" considered 'comfort' due to the greater sidewall height of the tires.

I had first dibs on it, but just didn't have room for another 928. I did copilot on the trip ... 1500 miles in two days.

What was even more amazing is that my 2008 F350 6.4 Turbo D ran almost 19 MPG with my unloaded trailer in tow. With car on trailer - about 16 MPG.

Thanks again Rich for the company and the lead. She will be well taken care of.

1500 in two days was crazy.

Correct the higher sidewall on the 15 made for a smoother ride since the tire OD was about the same...more rubber sidewall better ride Which is one reason why 18,19,20 inch rims on a car NOT designed for them can result in a real harsh ride....now looks is another matter
