Interesting.. Phoenix AZ uses the IM240 test I believe? (2 mile drive cycle on dyno, rather than just static rpm test). It makes for an interesting and meaningful comparison of emissions between the various injection systems.
I failed the iM240 with my 87 repeatedly until a month or so ago when it passed with:
HC 0.514 g/mile
CO 4.506 g/mile
NOx 0.483 g/mile
Amusingly, the day I passed, I got stranded at the test center with LH failure, which may explain why I was struggling to pass on previous visits, with seemingly random rich/lean issues.
Congrats on being fully road legal.. and cheaply!
The test I'm pretty sure he did to get a single reading covers a range of speeds and gears.
