AT cars need 4 caps, manuals only 3 (no cable to the trans).

Thanks!

Aaaargh, yes, your are right, there is another one!

Maybe I "forgot" about it since it was such a royal PITA to fit. I dropped it about 10 times and had to fish it out from "somewhere down there".

So that would make it 4 caps for a manual and 5 for an auto.

Please note that the figures from anyone expressing interest now will only be used to estimate the batch size and the material cost. Once I have figured it all out, everyone can still decide if he wants to place an order for the final price/shipping cost .

I am obviously not looking for making any money on this but the cost of the silicone raw material and the plastic resin for the molds and some other and odds and ends should be covered. I think that the max for each cap should be a fiver, if it ends up more, it's probably pointless to make them in this way (manually one by one).

I am currently waiting for a potential supplier to get back to me. Once I receive a suitable material sample, I will also start to make a few caps and test them on my car to confirm that the are up to the job.

Default Update

If I sum up the current interest a realistic batch size would be 100 pieces. Should be possible but will take a while.

I found one supplier who would sell small containers of silicone that fits my specs but the material is either red or beige but no black or translucent.

The red appears a bit flat but the beige should be roughly the color of slightly aged original covers. Would that be still be OK?

Kurt

Of course!

Color is of no concern, get the best material for the job regardless of the color.
