Sad. He was about to be ready to retire from working on other people's cars.

I know that the material things are not what people have in mind right now, but we should figure out a way to for Greg's family to get the best possible price for all the 928 related things that the family does not want to keep.

I am so sorry to hear this. I only knew him through the forum, but he could make you feel that you did know him even so. I will really miss his posts, and his character. A real gentleman from what I saw, in every sense of the word. This is a very sad day.

RIP Greg!
Yes he definitely was a character and brought life to the forum. It is very shocking news. He really did like the 928 and had a lot of interesting things to say. It will be a lesser place with his absence.

Tough year here and here.

Wow. Sad news! I had the pleasure of meeting and driving alongside him at Marble Falls a few years back.

This has been a tough year, we have lost several great 928 mentors.

WTF!

Didn't even know of any illness or what not... How did he pass, and for Christ's sake -WHY? Pretty sure 911 works in Georgia too!

Damn.

Another 928 loss, and the loss of a good friend & mentor to many.

2013 had better be better... 2012 sucked all around.

RIP my friend...

I am very saddened to read this news. Greg was such a great guy - I'm glad to have had the opportunity to meet him at 3rd Coast a couple of years ago. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends. RIP Greg!

RIP Greg. I never actually met him, but helped him with his avatar a while back. He was a funny guy.

Though probably did pass him at some point along the Blue Ridge Pkwy. I used to attend the BRBS (Blue Ridge Boxster Summit) which was sometimes on the same weekend as SITM. Was cool seeing parades of Porsches going in opposite directions.

what sudden terrible news.....

I had the pleasure of meeting him at SITM... a solid guy. I liked the fact that he have his HONEST opinion, with no regards to whether or not people would like it... reminded me of my father.

This is a great loss to the community.
Best wishes for any family he left. My condolences go out to them.

Has anyone let the guys in the corvette forum know yet?

When events like this happen, it always seems trivial to me to post some short "meaningless" message on a forum, however, in this circumstance I feel it unavoidable.

Greg was a great man, and I was truly honored to be one of his friends. He showed me support, both with 928 related ventures, and personally when I had some tough times earlier this year. I have never known a more honorable man. Last time we spoke several weeks ago, and anyone who he regularly called knows what I am talking about, he called me brother, and it always felt that way.

I was lucky enough to see Greg over Labor Day weekend and spend some time with he and Helen.

I will fondly remember all the late night SITM beer and tequila drinking sessions. Greg's beer of choice was always original Coors Banquet Beer. I will drink one in your honor tonight Greg.

I dont know if anyone has contact information for Helen, or if there is any coordinated effort to help his family in anyway, but if so, please PM me the details. I would gladly take some time off and head down there to help in any way I can.
