Looking for a 5k 928

Auto, manual, year?
A 32 valve with "proof of new TB/WP" for 5k will be very hard to find.
A 16 valve for 5k should be easy but without "proof of TB/WP" which is not so important on non-interference.
Good luck in your shark hunt.

Roger has a plethora of candidates. Contact him for your wish list. If it's not running, I'll work on it and getting going nicely. Might even toss on a fresh TB on a pre-85 car for ya.

If I were in your shoes, I would seriously look at this car. http://cfl.craigslist.org/cto/3456922775.html

I think relying on the PO for the quality of the TB/WP is in general a waste of money. It could "look" perfect, have a receipt showing all parts replaced with new, and the belt could still have been overtensioned at some point leading to a short life for several of the components.

I almost went down and looked at that car. Sounds like a nice example. It was a father-son project and they knew what they were doing. I exchanged emails back and forth with the seller and they were pretty knowledgeable. Overall nice people. I think that car is a great car at it's price. If it were an S it would be sitting in my driveway. Good luck in your search. I have been looking for a few months now casually, and I have gone aggressive (I am now ready to purchase) in looking for about a month now and I know it will be a challenge but when I come out of it I will be extremely happy.

Yeah....I had a 83 with the competition package. .. but it had to go.
But I want to replace her with another but better.

My FUTURE 84 928
Next week I will be in Phx, Az to pick up my 84 928. This will be replacing the 82 928 that I sold 8 months ago.
I will be "4th" owner of the vehicle. I am excited and at the same time nervous for some obvious reasons.
Here is some of the work recently done: Done about 6 months ago include brakes (inspection, adjustment and fluid, reseal of master cylinder), coolant flush, T-stat & seals, tranny flush & new cooler lines, new return line fittings, oil, tensioner rebuild, lower idler bearing, power steering belt, radiator cap, air filter, hood release back plate, new fuel pump, tank screen, in-tank fuel hose, washer at fuel pump (4), check of air flow sensor, coil, jetronic box.
The car was serviced by ExoticMotorWerks out of Phx, Az.
I will be in Phx, Az to pick up the car and drive it Las Vegas on Friday the 15th.
From there I am CONSIDERING driving up to Sacramento and then work my way back down to San Antonio, Tx.
Wish me luck YALL....I will post pics and provide status updates and hope all go well.
