I got a lot of parts pulled this weekend and will get some more pulled tonight. So, I will be shipping out a lot of packages tomorrow and will update everyone with tracking info.
I picked up a spare head to include with the engine. it's bare and clean.

Would anyone advise against accepting payment via PayPal from a buyer in Norway who wants me to use Norusoline.com to ship it to him? I haven't been able to speak to that company yet to make sure I can get signed delivery confirmation, but I am leary of shipping the items internationally and then someone claiming they never received them and have PayPal reverse the funds. The buyer is not on rennlist or facebook 928 group, but he does have an extensive Ebay profile with great feedback. It's just a couple hundred dollars, but still.

I sent out 7 shipments of parts yesterday and should get several more out tomorrow. I plan on spending all weekend pulling parts and I should have the car completely disassembled by the end of the weekend. I appreciate everyone's patience waiting on me to pull and ship.
I have found that I suck at estimating shipping costs. I have undercut myself about $100 on shipping so far.
Does anybody know how much a 928 weighs stripped, no body panels, suspension, drivetrain, interior, etc? I will need to figure out how to get it out of my garage and off to a salvage yard after I have removed the suspension/wheels.

I am just about done stripping the car, dropping the engine out the bottom tomorrow onto a pallet and dragging the rest out of the garage to have a scrap yard pick it up. How much should I expect the shell to weigh? The only body parts left on it are the rear fenders and roof, no drivetrain, no suspension, no doors, no interior whatsoever. I don't want to drag it out and scrape the garage floor/driveway. Trying to decide if I need to sawzall it up into a few pieces.

I have decided to part out the engine as well, everything should be available except the passenger head and the flywheel, including a no air pump porkensioner. I'm putting a price list together, but let me know if anyone is interested in anything.

Part out vs Whole car
I could not help following this post closely as I have an '89 S4 5sp LSD black/black car that has been for sale locally in Alabama and I noticed that if this '88 fully sells according to the spreadsheet it would be almost double my asking price. My car has no mechanical issues, some minor electrical (non critical functions), and is an all around presentable driver. I would hate to consider stripping a good car but it's a shame when the resell value is so low on a car that has parts that are so sought after and expensive. I have always been about saving cars in the past, but I can see how a simple engine issue can quickly render it a parts car. It's a shame the 928 doesn't get the respect the 911 does on the used market.
Thanks,
Diehard
