Coolant temp sensor location

From which sensor does the dash coolant temperature gauge get its information? Where is it located? I suspect one of the two similar sensors on either side of the oil filler.

On my 1990 it is the driver side sensor in the water bridge.

I believe you're looking for #4 on the pic at the top (guessing you have an S4?)

there are 2 on the water bridge....one is the Temp II and the other is for the temp gauge + warning light
