The pictures are poor - these don't look like '86 lights.

If you want $500 for a pair of used lights they will have to be H4's or you will have no chance of that money - these weren't stock on either car. H4's will say H4 in the middle of the lens, note the manufacturer (likely BOSCH).

Sorry those numbers don't help much - but since they look like 8" units and I assume they do not say H4 on the lens - then they are probably 8" H5's from a USA S4+ model.

These lights are as expensive as H4's new - but not quite as much in demand used.

New H5's are about $360 each - I'd assume you can get ~50% of that used if they are in complete good condition. So maybe $350-$400 for the pair...

In the end they are worth whatever you can get... it would be good to show some pictures with the pod cover off showing the bulb connector and the face of the lens in focus? it will help confirm what they are exactly.

Those are standard US H5's. Look at the tit on the top and the DOT buldges. Worth around $300

That brings up a question, do all the 928 lamps from Porsche in 8 inch have the teat on top of them?

No one ever told me this but I figured the little nipples at the top were to show you the lamp was working. Besides the fact that you can see at night that is . . .

8" Bosch H5 on the left, 8" Bosch H4 on the right. They both have the tell tale bubble/light on top. As Sean stated, the H5's do have 3 nipples on the face of the lens, the H4's do not, but there is a"H4" designation on the center of the H4 lens. 77Tony

Yes, that is what I was talking about.
Not the three aiming pads on the front of the US ones, where the aiming tool rests, but the bulb failure indicators.

I don't think so.

Else whoever shaved them off ours did a nice job of patching the glass.

Also, Jim Doerr told me that early H4 doesn't have that deer alignment thingy.

Yea, the early cars were teat-less. The new Bosch H4's all come with teats. Have for quite some time (10 years or more). Not sure when they made the switch though, but pretty sure it was after '84.

I picked up this NOS set, sans-teat about a year ago. I was thrilled to find them.
