Default 928's Down on the Farm, #6 Wrenching Party, Saturday May 14th 2011

__________________________________________________________________

I plan to be in Michigan, May 14th - 20th, to work on my early car, Number Six (feel free to read up on this special car by following links in my signature).

My father has graciously allowed me the opportunity to invite all you fine folks for a little get-together at the Doerr Farm!

Should be a great time! Some food, beverages, and good old-fashioned tire kickin'.

No lift, but will have room to wrench on 2 or 3 928s, if the mood strikes.
Lots of tools there, and a few wrenches too.

Plenty of parking for lots of 928's!

This is a "day event", but if you wanted to make a weekend out of it, there is a great Bavarian tourist town just 15 minutes away - Frankenmuth, Michigan
Excellent destination, with accommodations and Eastern European Pilsners!

Located just Northeast of Birch Run, so great Prime Outlet shopping too!

MAP LINK

Just PM if you need any help with accommodations.

Hope to see you there!

It's tough for Rebels to penetrate that far into Yankee held territory. I would have to loot and pillage all the way there and back.

I think Jim's made the Boston to the farm run a time or two, a bit more than 10 hrs for sure...It's a tempting roadtrip....

I knew a kid in college from Frankenmuth - never thought I would hear of that town again.

Brian, it's a solid 10 for you, via Canada (Niagra Fall/Sarnia).

Lol @ Chris.

Yea, Mike 10 for you too. No need for ice this year though, right?

Brian, Re Frankenmuth... I'm sure that you wouldn't hear that one twice either, but for me, that's pretty much home.
Used to work at Zehnder's there - the tourist's yummy chicken trough.
Got robbed at gunpoint. It was an epic moment.... epic, s@&t my pants moment, that is.
Only time it has happened in Zehnder's 150 year history, and it happened to me!

Jim I plan to be there at least on Sunday (my restaurant is open on Saturday) In any case, I'm still not sure where I'm going and I'm only 15 minutes away. I didn't see an address or specific directions on the map. Looking forward to meeting you and maybe sharing a brew (or two). If anyone is planning to stay in the area, I can hook them up with aproppriate lodging.......there are places you do not want to stay.

Looks like I can make it. Marking it on the calendar. Kids will probably come along too. Can bring the alignment tools.

Is there any good place for the kids to shoot BB guns?

You mean that all of you have never been to Bronners Christmas Wonderland
I would be there to go if I still lived in the area. Maybe when I head back this summer I can stop by.

Paul,
This is kindof a Saturday gig. Too bad you can't make it then.
But hey, feel free to call me Sunday.
The map was left intentionally non-descript. As we get closer to the day, I will ask folks attending to PM me for the address.

That's great that you can make it, AO! And your kids too. My niece and nephew live walking distance away.
...and plenty of places to shoot BB guns.
Might be able to talk my Dad into a tractor ride, and maybe have a tractor pull, or tug-o-war. lol
