So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Removed the air pump, dissembled, lubed bearings best I could and had it sounding pretty nice, however, didn't really feel too confident...but I had my fingers crossed. Probably would have left it apart and messed with finding new bearings, but I was suppose to take my wife to a horse training facility two hours away, so I reassembled the whole thing, rehung the air compressor and air pump...even put the belly pan back on. Took it for a ride and it was quiet as could be...success...then by the time I got back home...noisy again.
Darn.
As I was listen under the hood, I notice the cap for a small electrical plug on the drivers side was coming off...so I went to push it back on and it fell into the recesses of the engine.
Double darn.
After another hour under the hood removing the air cleaner and MAF and searching...l had the little plug cover in my hand. Went in the house to let the little woman know I would be ready to go after a quick shower...and that's when she informed me she didn't want to go after all. So, no four-hours-worth of drive time in the 928 on an incredible Sunday afternoon.
Triple darn.
Brian.

Got it a new stable-mate!
It's an '84 930: 38K miles, sports seats, LSD, K27, Andial Intercooler, SC cams, Ruf adj boost ****, Ruf 200mph speedo, gold BBS RSs (which will be replaced with Fuchs very soon).
Needs a bit of mechaincal TLC, but I got a good deal on it. And, with the air-cooled 911 market nowadays, it'll be a better investment than any of my... investments.
It's quite the kick-in-the-pants to drive.

Refoamed a pair of woofers to go back into the rear quarters of the GTS, just to fill the spaces up and look 'stock'. Actual bass will come from the SW2.

Productive night with the Shark.
- Deoxited the panel and cleaned the relay connectors
- Got the seat back motor on the driver's side seat working. I think the raise/lower motor is dead
- Deoxited various connections on the driver's side floor
- Started to apply B-Quiet Ultimate to the cabin floor

Moral of the story: If it isn't already, switch must be driven from the X-bus so it doesn't kill the battery. That way you can leave it on all summer by accident and not get stranded. Or, and this may be racer blasphemy and against your RS theme, you could get the factory switch working for the fan and never worry about it.

Changed the oil and looked at the trans fluid level. I cleaned the trans and then added some fluid to top it up for when I drive back up to NorCal this weekend.
I then saw a steady slow drip coming from the front seal behind the torque converter . It only happens when the car is not running, what could this mean (aside from an imminent rebuild)?
