Latest on the $800 Porsche
Well... I'm having trouble uploading a photo, so there may or not be a picture.
The headlights were working perfectly this morning, but this afternoon the lights worked but the motor isn't. Looks like I need to dig into the relay a little more thoroughly.
I observed some smoke coming from under the left bank (driver's side). I'm pretty sure I'm leaking ATF from the power steering. I wen't ahead and pulled the belt from the power steering pump in order to get home. Turns out the tool set is nearly complete (if a little rusty), which was a godsend as I didn't bring my toolbox on my test drive today. Judging from the plastic mounts I think I'm only missing the pliers. I'm not sure precisely where the leak is, but I might as well replace all PS hoses.... more items for the "buy list"!
I nearly have the rear wipers working, the motor now moves, but the blade "pops" off the shaft when it gets about 3/4 of the way through it's arc. At least it all a mechanical problem now.
The driver's seat appears to be getting some power. It will move forward and back but that's all. Passenger seat controls give no response.
That's all I'll probably work on, I'll spend the rest of the night researching the forums. The next thing I REALLY need to do is figure out how to dehumidify the interior so I can start tracking down where the water got in in the first place.
Thanks for all the input... It's very, very helpful, not to mention motivating.

Chances are that's oil smoke on the exhaust manifold, leaking from the small cover on the back of the cam cover.
Do a search on ground points... find them, clean them, things will perk right up.

There are 12 different grounds, clean them all. The seat switches have a history of failing, often from lack of use. Sometimes spraying a contact cleaner will fix it. Fix the power steering leak, that fluid will burn. Also check the fuel lines. Roger has a complet kit for the fuel lines.
Looks like you did great for $800.00!

It even still has the S spoiler on the front AMAZING! No rub strips too. That Guards Red paint will buff up really nice too, no clearcoat to deal with.
Very nice find!

Roger that on the ground cleaning. That's tomorrow's mission, It got too dark on me to do it today.
As far as the leak, after disconnecting the PS Pump belt and hosing out the engine bay, there are no visible leaks, no smell and most importantly, no more smoke. Aligning the car into the driveway was a chore, but got safely home. Will price and order hoses tomorrow as well as the fuel lines.
I may bring my tools and do some soldering while I'm sitting around doing nothing at work.
Here's the engine compartment....
Thanks,
Mark

Headlight motor. I will say it again, one more time. Check the cam switches up at the motor. They corrode. Follow Wally's advice about keeping your fingers clear of the armature.
Not only did you do well, you dun stole that car!

I guess stories about little ole ladies selling (Porsche's for Peanuts) do exist! I just wish it was the little ole lady on my street for once. Nice find and congrats.
