Default X pipe configuration

Can anyone tell me who makes this x pipe that I picked up. I have a 82 euro m28/12 engine with a borla twin pipe setup from my cat back. I was thinking of putting this x pipe in but have concerns about losing HP.

Looks like an x-pipe from Jones Exhaust or something similar. Generic piece made to fit a 928:

Does the X pipe delete the cats? I've been wondering about that.

Looks to be the same type of X-pipe we can find in a low price shop over here in Sweden. Probably China import.

i suspect it works as good as one we build our own , welding 2 elbows partly together ?
For the 928 we build one to suit the 928MS headers...., but on the BMW rally car i used that "cheap" prefab part ....as it was available in the diameter we wanted.

what should I expect out of this x pipe setup. I want to take the cat out because what use to be there was a muffler. I’m guessing the cat is much more restricted than the muffler but don’t want to lose any more low end torque

sorry , don't know what difference it would make.... myself have no dyno results for and after.
And the BMW pic is a 6 in line... not to compare with our V8.

Isn't your X pipe almost a plug&play ? so you can try it without to much work ?

I don’t have a dyno to check for the low end torque band

Just install it - it's easy enough to swap back if you don't like it.

I'm suspecting you'll like the change in sound - I know I did.

82euroatm, why is low end torque so important to you? I have always preferred high rpm power.

I want to try and keep the factory spec of the car but also change the sound.
my son is 17 and drove the car for the first time and loves the car but said it’s a little slower than his car.

i must say Ake, i do prefer low end torque above high rpm power.... isn't that what we use driving for 90 % of time ... if not 95 % ?

I keep reading that you will lose low end torque with the x pipe but gain on the high end.
im trying to see how to get the exhaust sound I want and keep the factory low end torque. Maybe resonators but I’m not sure.
