I'm very excited to announce that Number Six was chosen by Porsche as the oldest 928. This was done as parts of their 60th Anniversary.
Link to award recipients in 11 categories - oldest 356, 911, 912, 914, 924, 928, 944, 968, Boxster, Cayenne

Thanks eveyone! I though the contest was fun.
Read somewhere Porsche may be looking to photograph some of the winners for an exhibit at the Porsche Musuem.... we'll see.
Martin, will post it here when I get it. Curious if it's a wall plaque or a car plaque.
David, very kind of you to say that. I appreciate it and hope to do it well. As my Dad would say... a long row to hoe.

Outstanding Jim! I second what the others said above. A very special car indeed.

In reading the link, your car seems to be the only one described as something particularly special. If the others do have an historical Porsche significance, they sure don't say.
Therefore, in my humble (and unbiased) opinion, yours is truely first among equals

Congrats with the award..!!!
Awesome....
One question: If your VIN is 00016 and you say its number 6 ever produced,
does that mean that my 00028 is the 18th ever made..?
Btw 00018 AKA no 8th runs in Oslo Norway.
Silver with original all black leather interior.
Cheers.

I would say your logic makes sense.
Let me know if you a contact for the Olso Number 8.
If it's silver, it should be one of these listed in Post #4.

WOW! Porsche actually acknowledged that a 928 is special!
(They must be building a new one)
Seeing this car get attention makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Makes me wonder if one of the 1-5 are just sitting somewhere waiting to be unearthed...
Can't wait to see more of this very special car and it's journey to restoration!
