Very interesting looking intake.

So is booster air coming up the passenger side, Air to Air cooled at the front then plumbed down the driver’s side?

That's a lot of intake piping when you consider the turbo is in the rear... I think? I do like how everyhting looks close to symmetrical.

Marks always hanging out with the wrong crowd..

Pic at least a year old from when Louie was in town with his monster. Mark was still fabbing up his IC at that time. Don't know specifics, you'll have to ask Mark. He installed a larger turbo not long ago, running more boost than he used to..

Tom, thanks for posting. cool video!

Nice looking fabwork. I wonder how hot his car runs with that huge intercooler blocking the rad and deleting the pusher fan?

last I spoke with Mark he's not having any cooling issues. I think he's actually running cooler than he was stock.

Just pinged Mark about his cooling setup. His reply below. Mark is easily reached through his website if anyone wants to chat with him. He's always been helpful in the Austin group.

"...car runs cooler: at first 1/3 mark in 103d heat, stock radiator, cooling system.
Original fan, 75d thermostat, condensor fan always on, condenser fan is a high-flow push 10" in front of the intercooler. IC tanks flank the 2 & 10 (on a clock) position of the fan, so I had the sheetmetal complete the upper fan shroud."

the plumbing comes from the back to the bottom of the IC, then up and splits back to the intake for a symmetrical look, one thing I think is really nice about the set up!

If you look at more pics you will also see the IC in front isn't fully blocking the rad either its sorta V shape. I never had problems with big IC's in Las Vegas weather up front when done properly.

I had a chance to ogle Mark's setup at OCIC. The rear turbo is a really interesting idea. He's implemented it very well. I had a few questions regarding what the pressure delta looks like at different points in the down tubes. Just a curious question for the engineer within...

If I'm not mistaken, the 75 degree thermostat is not the factory rating. Going from memory, but I think the ones I've installed were both 83 and not 75.

The back of the engine/firewall looks interesting.

You are correct. I am also running the 75degC thermostat and find my car runs cooler with it. A lot of people forget that the thermostat has a range of operation, so a lower temp thermostat will be fully open earlier providing maximum cooling at a lower coolant temperature.
