Default 85-86 exhaust manifolds or headers?

Both options appear to be around the same price now that the stock 85-86 units are getting hard to find. The cast stock manifolds on the 81 aren't gonna cut it with the supercharger.

If the smog in your area allows full length headers, I don't know how they could be resisted. I'd go with a good in and out thermal coating too.

The only coating I'll use:

http://www.swaintech.com/store.asp?pid=10969

It's not pretty like Jet-Hot but it's effective and significantly than most other coatings. Be sure to mark what you do not want coated, getting this stuff off is a royal PIA.
Last year I rebult the headers on my fathers 355GTS and had them coated by Swain Tech.

I'll be dropping the exhaust on both 928's to have them coat everything from the headers to the tailpipe.

Keep looking and call around.

I got a pair for less than $200 delivered off eBay.

Chewy, I have a set of new msds headers I was going to use on either my '86.5 or '81. However being in Ca. none of the smog techs I've talked to will even look at a car with them on. P.M. if interested.
