Doh!
Thanks Don....looks like my wallet just got a little lighter!
But now I will finally be getting a set of these sweet wheels from that Wheels and Caps from their ebay site. Including shipping, $587. not bad.
they have amazing feedback so I assume they are trustworthy. As for OEM vs replica, guess I am not super worried about weight. Do you really think it will matter that much?
Im so psyched. those original rims I have just look so dated. These are such a simple change but really make the car look like a brand new model year vehicle.

Anyone want to recommend some tires?

i am trying to decide on the following set ups:
f- 225/40-18 vs 235/40-18
r- 265/40-18 vs 265/35-18

Make sure you buy original Porsche, not after-market.

The Porsche models are much lighter.
They may be all over eBay, but only the previously mentioned seller has them this cheap. Not sure how they can do it.

I don't see the logic in buying original Porsche. I called around a dozen dealerships and noone had any takeoffs of these wheels. If you could find them, they would be 2-3 times the price, and they would be used.

Have you weighed them? Mine seemed very light, although I can't tell you the exact weight.

I found that buying tires locally was cheaper and allows you to get lifetime balancing.

That or whatever version of Finland's Craigslist is out there. My last two sets of wheels (and tires) were from Carerra owners that bought new ones.

I just bought a set a few months ago with almost new tires for a grand.

Wade, That's pretty much how I got mine. The guy I got them from had picked them up from a dealer that was swapping to newer style wheels for a Carerra owner. Came with new Pilot Sports.

Thanks to all for the suggestions...my wheels finally came and i have to say they look great. really changes the character of the car and makes it feel like a current model year vehicle. gotten a lot of compliments already.
went with the sumitomos htr zIII s 235/40s in front and 265/40s in the rear. they fit perfectly with no rub. they are not a loud tire and surprisingly, the ride is not as harsh as i was expecting. they actually give great feedback without being jarring over every little crack.
and they stick! wasnt able to get a fishtail out of them in a few attempts.

James, you're seeing the pics? I'm seeing red X's for some reason. Must be on my end.

I'm sure I will love the wheels.

Don,

I thought you were kidding. The car is an S4 the same color as yours and the wheels are exactly like yours! LOL! Just go out in the garage and look at your front fender and the wheel from above w/o seeing the front bumper cover and you will see EXACTLY the same thing as in the pics!

Be cool!

i think don's car is a meteor grey while mine is actually diamond blue metallic. but, as you note, the wheels and tires i think are exactly the same set up as his.

Back in the office today and I can see the pics here just fine. The wheels look great! Of course I'm biased. Looks like you don't have a rear spacer. You could get a little wider look by adding a spacer. I had my stock 22mm spacer milled down to about 13mm and that was just right to get the rears out as far as possible without scraping. The studs did knock out the ends of my stock lugs though, just barely, but not that noticable.

James,

I only wish I was that witty.
