Unhappy 928 is messed up

This is gonna be a bad weekend.

Just got home from work with a damaged front end from a collision with backerboards that were flying around on the freeway. Front Bumper's paint is all cracked up and spider webbed. It's also chipping off within a section of 7 square inches. Big time PO-ed. Already filed an insurance claim as it's not gonna be cheap to fix it...

Time for a couple shots of Johnny Walker..

Hopefully, you got the tag & vehicle number from the truck that was losing its load. Perhaps it was a state or county maintenance vehicle.... you could end up with your vehicle fixed and a lifetime pass for your tinted windows!

Down here, near the border, we have guys pile up junk in the back of their trucks over 18 feet high. Stuff flies off all the time. Years ago, I hit a huge roll of carpet with my SS Camaro I bought brand new two days prior...

I got referred to an autobody shop called G & C. If anyone is familiar with this body shop in San Rafael and can attest to their work, let me know. I am weary about body shops these days. With this bumper, I am hoping that they remove it and repaint it before slapping it back on my car so I don't see any overspray and chipping on it. Not to mention, I hope they use flex agent and strip it before re-shooting it.

I have a shop that did an incredible job to RR my driver side fender. They were able to very closely match the mess on the rest of car.

I hope they are local to where I"m at in San Rafael. I would prefer to keep it around here so I know where it's at.

I'm gonna call Sonnen Porsche tomorrow and see where they take their cars to get repaired cosmetically. Maybe they can even refer me to their source and I can tell my insurance to go there.

I hate it when crap like this happens. Yo feel so helpless and in recollect I am sure you can see it all happening in slo-mo. The pessimist says this sucks, the optimist says at least it didn't punch a hole in the oil pan.

Glad you are okay.

Oh if it was an oil pan, I'd have that little suicide pill in the glove box they give astronauts at NASA.

On a side note, after doing some research on this auto body shop I was referred to and it seems like the place is on the ball. I'd like to see some of their work before I commit to them though. I am hoping I get a full repaint of the bumper still to avoid cracking later on that is localized to the one spot they fill and spray.

sorry for the damage.
I had a friend that hit a bed mattress on the highway while he was on his bike; it failed right in front of him from a truck. Luckily he survived.

goodluck on the fix.

Sorry to hear of the casualty. Any reputable shop will warantee their work. It's just if it does crack or craze later, you get to do it all again and risk them making a similar mistake again. It's wise of you to shop and look at their work...

The color difference is not there it the fact there is clear coat that is shiny on that part of the car
