None on my cars, no leaks either. I do not use sealant on water pumps or my cam towers either.
Use new copper nuts, the self locking kind.

Perfect timing for this thread. I got to put mine back on tonight. I was going to double nut the exhaust studs to make sure they stay locked down. I didn't plan on permatexing the gaskets. I had thought of putting some on my rear cam tower cover that I'm doing before I put the manifold back on though.

I like the copper spray like used on hg sometimes, although its really more for the tackyness that helps install, I've never tried straight gooping them up and it seems from others that perhaps you shouldnt

No sealant.
And I don't use sealant anywhere on this engine. Well, except on stock oil pan gaskets which I won't use again.
On other cars I will use a dab of Permatex #1 and a repeat offender leak. Never just because I can as I know who'll be taking that crap apart. Me.

a good rule of thumb to go by is that if it is a 1 piece gasket with no special bends like the 32V cover gaskets. Then install without any sealent or anything else for that matter.
