Behr radiators suck

I use some real fat tie wraps to secure the side tanks from moving. I lost the welded piece that the radiator holders use to bolt to the chassis. so, i used the tire wraps, since if the forward and rearward were so great as to break the welds on both sides, i figured the plastic was not going to last very long.
ditto on the white area inside. make sure your cooling system is bled properly.

You could also repair the side tanks by just cutting off the Tabs and making up some stiff "c" clips. Bending the edge of the core where the end-tank seals can cause even more issues with the core and or the seal channel.
When compressing the end tank on the core I would not use clamps that put pressure on the other end-tank and its seal, as this could also damage the other tank.
Mat and I repaired my end-tank and it has lasted 2.5 summers (Two trips to SITM) and going on three winters (note: I do not drive the car in the winter).

Whatever you decide to do it is great to have options

Personally I don't mind the Behr unit, it is light and I know not everyone cares but I don't need anymore cooling and because the unit has less tubes it carries less water, with my aero changes I hope that the increased pressure drop will more than compensate for when I have the larger more powerful engine in there.
I believe that Mark Anderson uses the Behr unit in his racer so it must be quiet efficient. I still have the original Behr unit in my 85 model, I must admit i will change it just because of age. i have painted it to protect it and the coolant levels are well monitored, that is a pretty good stint in my book.

yep, once you clear out all the condenser stuff, vent the radiator well, maybe open up the nose, its easily good for adaquate cooling for a 400rwhp engine used in a racing environment, on a 105 degree day!
10 years that radiator has been working for my racer, and with no issues. Just make sure its bled correctly, and you are good to go. BUT, it is a little frail and it would be nice to have a real race radiator with aluminum side tanks. But, since mine is still working, that wont happen for a while.

If anyone is interested in a working Behr radiator, I have one from my '79 from when I did all my 928MS upgrades last year. Here's the link to the Marketplace ad with photos-
