Is there a current consensus on which brand belt is best?

Ralph, I'm not sure if was discussed, but check out the "twin screw" thread for your SC...I prefer the gator-back

+1 on the Gator.

Slight retension after the initial break in and I have 16 -18 track days on the belt.

That was also the brand I used before going to the 8 rib pulley and no problems.
